danceSpirit is the ONLY studio in the Carson Valley that teaches DANCE EDUCATION THROUGH MOVEMENT.
We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to experience the fine art of DANCE. It is a family oriented studio whose goal is to offer a variety of positive classes for dancers of all ages and abilities in dance, theater and music.
Our staff is professional in their technique and qualified in offering gentle correction and positive reinforcement to each dancer to help them become a more disciplined individual.
We offer technique classes in Ballet, Pointe, Stretch & Strength for Dancers, Leaps & Turns, Jazz, Tap, Hip-Hop, Acrobat, Now We're Dancin' pre-school combo, Musical Theater, Theater Dance/Dance History, Adult Classes, and the well-known "Golden Girls" dance team. Classes are for boys, girls, men and women ages 3 to 103! Please come in and try a class for FREE and find one that fits you and your dancer best!
Mission Statement
The mission of danceSpirit is to provide a structured learning atmosphere for dancers of all ages. Dance, movement, music and theater develops healthy bodies, positive self-esteem, grace and poise. These skills will be taught in a safe and caring environment where indivudual differences are accepted.

SANDI SCHEER - Artistic Director - BIO
Sandi began her life of dance in Denver, Colorado with the Patricia Reid School of Dance and the Hope Moore School of Dance studying tap, jazz and acrobat. She was a top Colorado State gymnast, a five-year professional dancer/cheerleader for two time Super Bowl Champions, the Denver Broncos, danced and choreographed for the Montana State University Repertory Dance Company for ten years and holds a BS Degree in Physical Education and Music. In 1991 Sandi was hired as Assistant Dancer Educator under Renville Duncan, Principal Dancer/Singer for Whitney Houston. Sandi was also 2000 and 2001 DANCELINE coach for Douglas High School in Minden, NV. She is on staff at Western Nevada Community College in Carson City, NV.
Sandi has received numerous excellence awards and choreography honors including Stars of Tomorrow Choreography awards, Spotlight Dance Cup Choreography awards & Studio Honor awards, USA Dance Classic Choreography awards and four I Love Dance Teacher’s Excellence awards. Her recent achievements are 2005 I Love Dance Teacher's Excellence Award - (Sacramento, CA), 2005 10 year Teacher Award for Spotlight Dance Cup, 2004 National Dance USA Overall Entertainment award, 2003 Five Star Teacher award from Spotlight Dance Cup and 2003 Overall Entertainment Award at Dance USA Reno for her choreography. She claims many I Love Dance Sweethearts, Miss/Teen/Junior Spotlights, Miss Dance USA, Mr. Spotlight, Caravan Kids. Miss Broadway Magic and Dance USA. She is mother and employer/partner for National MISS SPOTLIGHT 2000, Staci Flatness.
Sandi has adjudicated for Miss Nevada pageants, America’s National Teenager Scholarship competitions, Cinderella Scholarship pageants, Miss Montana USA pageants, I Love Dance, Kids Artistic Revue, USA Dance Classic, the Original Dance Challenge North Dakota, Broadway Magic and Spotlight Dance Cup competitions throughout the country.
Her choreography and direction has been seen in Godspell, Kids on Broadway, Ready Steady Go, Wizard of Oz, Nutcracker Ballet, Miss/Mrs. Montana USA pageants, the Senior Follies of Nevada and is currently Artistic Director of danceSpirit Performing Arts which produces the NEW Nutcracker Ballet - ALL JAZZ’D UP! and new this season, 2006 Ebenezer Scrooge - JAZZ'D UP LIKE THE DICKENS!
Sandi has owned and operated her own dance studios since 1981 in Montana and currently owns danceSpirit in Carson City, NV. She is a member to the National Dance Week organization. She is available to adjudicate competitions, choreograph competition routines and direct stage productions upon request.
